The 3rd instalment in the Secret McQueen series do not really bring any surprises. It continued the story in the same style as it has begun. That of course means a good dose of blood splattered action as well as some carnal pleasures. Unfortunately it also means that Secret cannot see a good-looking male person without getting somewhat distracted which is rather annoying.

In general it is the same light and enjoyable reading that made me continue with this book series. Apart from another supernatural little problem to solve Secret’s strange relationship with the werewolf king and his second continues to develop and so is Secret herself. It appears that Secret have some powers that she is not really aware of and although this is not really used to a great extent in this book it does hint at some interesting developments to come.

The supernatural little problem, well it turns out that it was not that small really, that Secret had to deal with was good enough as the backbone of the book and as a vehicle for carrying the other threads forward. There were however some rather annoying parts. I was especially disappointed when Secret suddenly seemed to have developed a bad case of stupidity. If you have already concluded that there is something fishy that goes on and that you simply cannot explain why an hour seemed to have disappeared when having a meeting with the suspected bad guy you do not really want to go back alone just to have another chat with him. Yet this is exactly what she does with the all too predictable results.

Well, as I wrote, this series is rather light literature after all so I guess one cannot be too picky. Overall, it was an enjoyable read and pretty much what I expected.
