Alexander The Conqueror

For someone like me, whose science fiction preferences lean towards capital ship space battles, this book is like candy to a child. The battles are huge but not as huge so they become totally distanced from the reader as, for example, some of the ones in Saxon Andrews’ books have a tendency to become. They are also reasonably realistic even though I still have a bit of difficulty with this converted-wet-navy-stuff.
The fact that the really bad guys gets blasted at the end is certainly adding to the enjoyment I had when reading this book. This is pure fiction and adventure and I really like it. The writing style is, partly at least, more something you would expect from books written in the 30’s, 40’s or 50’s but I like that as well. In my previous reviews of this book series I have made references to Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter books and this is to some extent due to the writing style but also due to the story.
