Monster Hunter International

Monster Hunter International - Larry Correia As one might deduce from the rating, I quite liked this book. If you don’t like guns you won’t like this book. If you don’t like monsters you won’t like this book. If you like any of these there’s a good chance you will like this book. If you like both, there’s a good chance you will like this book a lot. I did.

The writer states in the “About the author” text at the end of the book that he is addicted to guns and B-horror movies. He is a gun dealer, firearms instructor, accountant, writer and certified as a concealed weapons instructor.

That says as much about the book as about the writer. This book has guns, monsters, some more guns, some more monsters, even more guns, event more monsters…you get the picture. Now, the book has a story as well and although Larry Correia’s love for B-horror movies shows a bit the story isn’t bad and presents a fairly good frame for the action. A few humorous comments are sprinkled around to lighten up the mood as well.

The end result is a very enjoyable read, at least for me. It was a nice diversion from my regular Science Fiction diet and I will, without any doubt, read the next one in the series as well.
